An X Change of Ideas

Last weekend Materiale Centralen contributed to the ‘Design X Change’, held at the Design Museum Danmark in the sunshine of the outdoor courtyards. The weekend long program consisted of varying workshops from varying industries involved with design, such as the Fablab centre and Flydende By, both of which Materiale Centralen is involved with. In addition to Materiale Centralen’s information stand at the X Change, we also provided materials for the varying workshops available over the weekend. Among these materials were 400m of wooden planks, approximately 100kg of clothing, textiles and fabrics and around 40kg of white ceramics and porcelain pieces. All in all, it was a lot of stuff which had the opportunity to be reused! These materials were utilised over the weekend and provided some extra interactivity to the X Change.
It was a pleasure to be a part of the X Change, and also to connect with some other organisations taking part in the design community. We made some international and local connections and were blown away by the ingenuity of the creative people everywhere. The projects of KEA, Fablab and of course Flydende By were interesting and contributed to this atmosphere of creativity. Thanks to Design Museum Danmark for contributing to environmental sustainability and using our materials. If you spoke to us and would like to reconnect, send us an email and we’ll be in touch.
